Requirements
Pudsey Grammar School required a purpose‑built facility to support pupils accessing inclusion and alternative curriculum provision. They wanted to reconfigure internal space to support sixth‑form growth and sought a bespoke standalone building to meet the needs of learners requiring adapted or alternative pathways. Creating a sense of belonging for these pupils was essential.
The project scope demanded a full turnkey approach: groundworks to achieve level, compliant access; integrating air‑conditioning, data networks, access control, and school‑branded exterior vinyl wrap; and delivering WCs, kitchenette spaces, multi‑purpose breakout and counselling rooms, classrooms, circulation areas, and purpose‑built staff offices with internal glazing for passive supervision. Pupils previously had to walk to another building for toilet facilities, making the inclusion of onsite WCs essential.
