1. Portakabin is set to launch Jordan’s Home, a new transitional Single Living Accommodation model at this year’s UKREiiF event , that connects real estate, property and infrastructure professionals together. Created in partnership with Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, these spaces, also known as Stepping Stone homes, will provide safe, stable and dignified homes, rapidly deployed for ‘meanwhile’ use for young people with experience of homelessness. The young people will also be provided with access to education, employment and long-term housing opportunities.

Inspired by real stories, Jordan’s Home puts a human story at the centre of a growing national accommodation crisis.

Centrepoint’s Youth Homelessness Databank reported that nearly 124,000 young people in the UK experienced homelessness last year. This marked the highest number on record, highlighting the urgent need for an effective solution.

  2. Showcasing scalable MMC housing solutions at UKREiiF

At UKREiiF in Leeds this month in May, Portakabin will demonstrate how Jordan’s Home and Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) can support the delivery of high-quality, adaptable modular housing solutions across the country. In order to not only tackle youth homelessness, but also to support the UK’s wider accommodation crisis.

We will be presenting our full transitional modular housing offer which provides a scalable, cost-effective approach to addressing the accommodation crisis and giving families a Space to Belong. Our aim is to provide rapid deployment, flexibility and reduce the pressures on local authorities, with our models ranging from studio units to two-bed homes that are suitable for multigenerational families.

  3. Driving change through modular innovation

Dan Ibbetson, CEO at Portakabin said: “Too many young people are being held back by lack of suitable housing and accommodation. Our Stepping Stone homes have been designed to change that, providing not just a roof over someone’s head, but a real foundation for future independence. Our model provides a transitional home, until permanent housing is available.

“‘Jordan’s Home’ is about making this issue real. It represents the thousands of young people across the UK who need more than a temporary shelter - they need the right environment to move forward with their lives. We’re thrilled to have worked alongside Centrepoint to bring Jordan’s Home to life, and offer a practical, high-quality solution that can be delivered and adapted at pace, when and where it’s needed most in the community.

“We’re looking forward to UKREiiF and having the opportunity to have conversations with other charities, local authorities, and partners about how MMC can support communities through innovative, scalable, housing solutions.”

The Portakabin team will be on the ground at UKREiiF from Tuesday 19 to Thursday 21 May 2026 at the Royal Armouries Dock in Leeds. CEO Dan Ibbetson will be joined by specialists in Modern Methods of Construction, ready to meet partners, share expertise and explore how these new housing solutions can strengthen communities across the country.
