The Need for a Dedicated Inclusion Space
In early summer 2025, Pudsey Grammar School found itself at a turning point. The leadership team had long envisioned a dedicated space where pupils accessing inclusion and alternative curriculum pathways could feel supported.
New student facilities would allow learning to take place, without the constraints of crowded corridors or borrowed classrooms. The school was also reshaping its internal layout to accommodate a growing sixth form, making the need for a purpose‑built inclusion facility more urgent than ever.
What they wanted was simple in principle, but complex in practice. A calm, dignified building for pupils to experience a strong sense of belonging.
In the previous setup, students were required to walk to another building just to access the WC facilities, so the new building needed to offer an accessible modular toilet provision. As well as a range of specialist spaces to provide an alternative curriculum.
