BBA (British Board of Agrément)
The BBA provides authoritative, independent information on the performance of building products. Under BBA assessment, Portakabin buildings undergo rigorous structural tests – giving you the assurance that they meet permanent building regulations and provide outstanding performance. Our BBA certification confirms our buildings' compliance with the Building Regulations (England, Wales and Northern Ireland), the Building Standards (Scotland) and other permanent building standards.
This is the independent building certification standard in The Netherlands, which provides assurance that Portakabin buildings meet all relevant Dutch building regulations.
This is the independent building certification standard in Belgium, which provides assurance that Portakabin buildings meet all relevant Belgian building regulations.
LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board)
This certification, awarded to the Ultima modular building system, provides assurance that the building system has been thoroughly fire tested and is capable of meeting LPCB requirements for the spread of flame. It provides assurance to insurers that the spread of any fire within the building will be minimised, reducing the extent of damage to the building and its contents.
Portakabin Ultima, Titan and Solus buildings have gained European Technical Approval (ETA) which gives them the right to bear the CE mark. The CE mark is only awarded after the completion of exhaustive product tests. It means you can buy these modular buildings throughout Europe, safe in the knowledge that they meet the very latest structural guidelines.
5-year product warranty
All new buildings purchased from Portakabin come with a 5-year product warranty. This covers the external fabric of the building, which includes the steel structure itself, the floor, walls and roof panels, as well as the external windows and doors. It gives you the peace of mind that if a fault ever occurs with the building fabric during the warranty period, any faulty parts will be repaired or replaced at no extra cost. Any refurbished buildings purchased carry a 3-year product warranty – covering the external fabric of the building.
30-year structural warranty
Our comprehensive 30-year structural warranty covers the structural, load-bearing elements of new buildings. These are the external walls, floors, roofs and columns – assuring you that your building will remain structurally sound. In the unlikely event of any structural failure, you have the reassurance that we will repair or replace the element at fault. If you purchase a building from our refurbished range the a 10-year structural warranty applies, covering the structural, load-bearing elements of the building.

This comprehensive health and safety standard covers an organisation’s impact on health and safety issues both for the employees of the company and the design and manufacture of all products produced by it. The standard is measured against an independent benchmark of set criteria and ISO 45001 ensures that those standards are achieved and maintained.

Dun and Bradstreet credit rating of 1
Portakabin has been awarded a credit score rating of 1 by Dun and Bradstreet. This rating puts Portakabin in the top 15% of UK companies, with a very low probability of business failure. We believe we are the only modular building supplier to achieve such a high credit rating. That gives you the assurance that we're here to stay and will be around to service your building and provide ongoing support services, for the long term.
Zurich Approved supplier
Zurich Municipal, the UK's largest insurer of Local Education Authority buildings, has appointed Portakabin as its approved supplier of interim accommodation. The contract award followed a comprehensive research and evaluation process to ensure that Zurich customers would receive the best value for money and a supplier they could rely on.
CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme)
Our accreditation by CHAS means that you won't have to carry out lengthy assessments of our health and safety performance when you choose to work with Portakabin. As a CHAS-accredited supplier, our health and safety policies, systems and procedures have been rigorously assessed by independent specialists – so you don't have to.
The SafeContractor scheme is a SSIP-approved health and safety assessment scheme which ensures that members’ health and safety paperwork is up to date and meets legal industry requirements. Our accreditation to the scheme demonstrates that we take responsibility for our legal health and safety requirements.
Constructionline is a Government scheme that maintains the UK's largest database of pre-qualified contractors and consultants. Our accreditation by Constructionline gives you the assurance that our technical and financial systems have been independently assessed and approved.
NICEIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting)
Portakabin is a member of the NICEIC, the UK electrical contracting industry's independent voluntary body. It regulates electrical contractors and offers approved certification services that are recognised throughout all industries. Portakabin provides full NICEIC certification for all electrical installations before your building is handed over, at no extra cost to you.
Gas Safe Register
Portakabin gas engineers are officially registered to work safely and legally on boilers, cookers, fires and all other gas appliances. Gas Safe Register is the official gas registration body for the UK. It replaced CORGI on 1 April 2009.
Achilles Utilities Vendor Database
Portakabin is a registered supplier on the Achilles Utilities Vendor Database. To qualify for registration, information on Portakabin financial performance, health, safety and environmental policies, CSR performance, products and services had to be checked and verified by Achilles to ensure it was accurate and up-to-date. This information is made available online to buyers in the utilities sector.
Rail Safety Standards Board RISQS
As a registered supplier on the RSSB RISQS database, you can be sure that Portakabin meets the exacting standards of the rail industry.

Achilles FPAL (First Point Assessment)
This is a separate accreditation for the oil and gas industry in Scotland, for which we have met the required standards.

BIM Level 2 certification
Portakabin, has been officially recognised by BSI (British Standards Institution) for its capability to work to Building Information Modelling (BIM) Level 2 as a tier 1 designer/contractor in accordance with PAS1192-2. RIBA-Approved Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Seminars
