When road haulage company Sawyers Transport moved to a new cold storage depot in Lurgan, it needed to create additional office space for more than 100 of its head-office staff. The new offices were required within just three months, but Sawyers didn’t want to compromise on the quality of work environment provided for its staff.
Derek Sawyers, Managing Director at Sawyers Transport, says: “With only a couple of months to get our new buildings in place, hiring modular buildings was the best option for us. We had seen Portakabin buildings at another site in Dublin and had been impressed by their high standard, so we contacted the company to see if they could provide what we needed in the short time available.”
Portakabin responded immediately and set about adapting one of its existing Duplex modular buildings for Sawyers. This involved re-designing the interior of the open-plan building and fitting partition walls to create individual offices and meeting rooms, to Sawyers’ specifications.
The building offers bright, spacious, ready-to-use office facilities for 110 people, with integral toilets and washrooms. Portakabin fitted the building with a climate-control system to maintain comfortable working conditions all year round, and ramps to provide easy access to the building.
Derek continues: “This large building was delivered and installed on the agreed date, as promised by Portakabin. The installation went well, giving us exactly the office space we needed, just when we needed it.”“The quality of the Portakabin building is excellent. We regard it as a permanent solution to our head-office requirements. Everyone who is now based in the building is very pleased with the standard of their working environment.”Derek Sawyers, Managing Director, Sawyers Transport Ltd
