Long-established civil engineering contractor, Denis Moriarty The Kerries Ltd, needed to source full site accommodation facilities for its Monaincha Wind Farm construction project in a remote part of County Tipperary.
Specialising in major infrastructure projects, the company wanted to create good quality site office, meeting room and welfare amenities for the 40 people who would be working on site for up to nine months.
John O’Connor, Senior Quantity Surveyor at Denis Moriarty The Kerries Ltd, says: “We were looking for site buildings at the higher end of the market."
“The combination of good service, a competitive quote and the quality of the buildings meant we chose Portakabin to provide everything we needed for this new site.”
Denis Moriarty needed the buildings on site within two weeks of placing the order. Portakabin responded immediately and managed to get all the buildings installed and ready for the workers to move in within ten days.
Because of the remote location, Portakabin needed to set up the entire fully functioning site from scratch. That meant providing waste and water tanks for the toilets, as well as all necessary furniture.
John O’Connor adds: “Everything was completed on schedule and well within the timescales we had requested.”
The delivery went smoothly. The buildings were clean and in perfect condition when they arrived. They are very robust and we expect them to provide a high standard of amenities for the duration of this project.”
Alstom Power required staff welfare accommodation for a planned Gas Turbine upgrade and Inspection project. Tight project management, organisation and strict adherence to health and safety procedures were paramount for this project.
