Why buy from PortakabinFrederick House is the new home of the Portakabin International Head Office. This two-storey scheme sits in the heart of the Portakabin production facility in York.
The new facility houses office suites, state-of-the-art boardroom and meeting facilities, a main reception area and high-end amenities.
Aluminium cladding was paired with contrasting real timber to provide a contemporary aesthetic to the main façade. The boardroom sits directly above the main reception area and benefits from the use of switchable privacy glass, which uses electro-chromatic technology to interchange between transparent and opaque at the press of a button.
This scheme was fully designed in-house by the Portakabin Design and Engineering department.
Concept design through to completion took only eight months, including the demolition of the existing headquarters.
The new facility boasts 36m² roof mounted photovoltaic panels, air source heat pumps, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery and daylight linked LED lighting, to provide an EPC A rated building.
