Requirements
Due to growth of the school and sixth form, Hellesdon High School required additional classroom space to ensure it was ready for the new academic year.
The Wensum Trust got in touch with Portakabin in March 2022 looking for a solution. In addition to new classrooms, the brief included creating a designated space for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), as well as an IT Suite, with space for at least 50 children and teaching staff. -
Solution
The project had a tight turnaround with facilities needing to be installed and handed over ready for the start of the new school year in September. In addition to all groundwork, including new pathways, the Portakabin solution, made up of eight Portakabin Duplex buildings, saw the creation of two additional classrooms, a spacious SEN room, IT Suite including data points, as well as office space for teaching staff.
Within 6 months Portakabin had given us an up-and-running solution to a time critical problem. We’re delighted with the new space, in particular having a designated SEN room. The new facilities have taken the pressure off the main body of the school and given our pupils bright and comfortable new learning environments.
