Set in 12 acres of beautiful countryside in the lower Wye Valley in Derbyshire, Greenhills Holiday Park offers spacious camping fields for up to 120 touring caravans and 60 tents. Between February and November, the park needs to supplement its central toilet and shower block with additional facilities to maintain the high standards expected by its visitors.
Having initially been to see the buildings in person, park proprietor, James Green, was really impressed by the standard of the interiors and they have subsequently hired two buildings from Portakabin each season for the past ten years.
Each year, Portakabin provides a male and a female washroom building for the park, each fitted out with three showers, four toilets and five washbasins. The buildings are fully plumbed in, with full-flushing toilets, domestic-standard sanitary ware and powerful showers.
Portakabin adapted the buildings with extra sinks and toilets, to match the provision in the park’s main building. Most recently, the buildings have been wrapped in a vinyl cover featuring images of trees and bark, helping to blend the buildings with the site’s natural surroundings. Many other holiday parks have now followed suit, having been impressed with the natural, attractive finish.
Portakabin buildings are easy to install on remote or difficult-to-access sites where traditional construction would be problematic and disruptive. The buildings arrive fully fitted out ready for simple connection to services.
