Primary school libraries – a space challenge
Many primary schools are working hard to promote reading, but too often they are limited by spaces that were never designed to function as libraries such as corridors, shared areas, and small converted rooms that restrict stock, limit accessibility, and prevent children from engaging meaningfully with books.
As the government moves toward ensuring every primary school has a library by 2029, schools need solutions that are practical, robust and designed around the real constraints they face.
Our 2026 whitepaper demonstrates what an inspiring library space looks like – based on over 1,900 Inspiring Libraries Competition entries from primary pupils themselves.
