1. The Workdry Group HQ

Portakabin has secured a major contract to design and construct a brand-new corporate headquarters for The Workdry Group in Chandler’s Ford, Hampshire.

A flagship, three-storey modular office at Workdry’s site, will be constructed using 66 custom-engineered modules. The space will provide a modern, contemporary working environment filled with natural light and will showcase a striking, floor-to-ceiling glass atrium and welcoming reception hub, leading to flexible and collaborative workspaces.

  2. Sustainability and Community Impact

Designed with sustainability at its core, the international headquarters is designed to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, one of the highest benchmarks for sustainable building performance. Representing our strong focus on energy efficiency, reduced carbon emissions, responsible ethical material selection, and overall providing premium internal environments to support user wellbeing.

Sharing core values, both Portakabin and Workdry are fully committed to creating a meaningful, positive impact within local communities. With a target of 100% biodiversity gain, the local natural habitats will deliver a significant uplift compared to their original state. Through carefully considered landscaping and ecological enhancements including living walls, a planted courtyard, trees to the frontage, and bat boxes concealed in the exterior cladding, the project will ensure the environment is not only protected but actively improved for local wildlife.

In addition, as the modular office building will be located at a major road junction, bus route and nearby to the train station, the project not only drives Workdry’s ambitious ESG goals, but also establishes a lasting legacy for the people of Chandler’s Ford.
