The Requirements
Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) needed five separate local ambulance response points strategically located around the city of Doncaster. By reducing the time spent travelling to and from the ambulance station YAS wanted to maintain their operational efficiency, improve response times and ultimately enhance the service they provide for their local patients. The buildings needed to provide hard-working ambulance crews with comfortable facilities while on stand-by or rest breaks.

The Solution
In a full turnkey solution that included planning, project management and groundworks, Portakabin supplied high-specification single modular buildings to serve as response points for Doncaster ambulance crews. With plenty of natural light from large windows, and efficient heating and cooling systems, the buildings are designed to provide as much comfort as possible. A modern kitchenette means crews can prepare meals and refreshments and the high-quality toilet facilities are also sometimes used by passing ambulance crews. Amongst the many additional features the buildings also house a charging kit for the ambulances and a defibrillator for community use.
