Requirement
With the local nursery announcing it was planning to close, there was concern from the community about early years provision for nursery and pre-school places. A decision was made to extend the existing primary school, creating new facilities for up to 60 children and supporting staff.
In addition to the indoor facilities, the outdoor space needed a full redesign including creating safe play space, a parent drop-off zone, bike and scooter shed and connecting pathways.

Solution
Managing both planning permission and building control, Portakabin delivered spacious, airy indoor facilities to accommodate both preschool learning and play areas and separate nursery facilities. The energy efficient design included additional acoustic panelling in the nursery and air conditioning throughout.
With outdoor learning and play a high priority, working with the Portakabin groundworks team, an outdoor play area with bespoke canopy and Soakaway was created for year-round use.
With the closure of the local nursery we were keen to provide a solution for the local community, however we didn't have the facilities in place. From design, to planning, to delivery, Portakabin has been with us every step of the way and the resulting early years learning facility is both practical and exciting.
