  1. What were the key requirements for delivering purpose-built modular changing rooms and a modular canteen?

    Gist Distribution Limited, who specialise in the distribution of chilled and perishable goods across Ireland, required purpose-built welfare facilities to enhance staff wellbeing at their logistics site in Coolock, County Dublin.  

    The client recognised the importance of providing staff with welfare facilities to refresh and relax during shift breaks, requiring a high-specification modular canteen area with a warm, welcoming aesthetic, as well as modular changing rooms and showers for both male and female team members.  

    The goal was to move away from the typical industrial feel of workplace facilities and instead create a homely, design-led environment that would support comfort and morale at Gist Distribution. 

  2. How fast did Portakabin provide Gist Distribution with their new modular changing rooms and modular canteen? 

    In the space of three months, Portakabin delivered a 90m² modular facility constructed from two modular buildings linked with a step access and platform system. A specially selected herringbone vinyl flooring was installed to create a high-end, domestic feel. This not only offered durability and easy maintenance but also brought a sense of warmth and calm to the space.  

    The kitchen was completed to a premium standard, with carefully chosen worktops to match the flooring, along with high-spec appliances that ensured both functionality and visual appeal. 

    The modular canteen comfortably accommodates up to 15 staff members at any one time, allowing for a relaxed and sociable atmosphere during break periods. 

From the very beginning, the Portakabin team really listened to what I needed and took the time to understand exactly how the spaces would be used.
